"There's no justice right now. Let's hope it comes later." Nadezhda Buyanova's lawyers on the verdict.

Immediately after the verdict was announced, the lawyer Oscar Cherdzhiev I noted that I never saw any evidence of Nadezhda Buyanova’s guilt in the trial.

— Just words were enough for a person to end up behind bars for such a long time, “He said and assured that he would definitely appeal the verdict.

- Unfortunately, there is no justice now, at this moment it has not happened, — another lawyer stated Leonid Solovyov. "Let's hope it happens later. In any case, the truth remains the truth, and I hope it will be defended, apparently, a little later."

According to him, even if we assume that Nadezhda Buyanova actually uttered the phrase about "the legitimate goal of Ukraine", then the "Still, five and a half years for a few phrases is simply out of the question."

Solovyov wasn't surprised by the five-and-a-half-year sentence the court handed down. But he was surprised by the number of people who came to the sentencing—the courtroom was packed.

“It surprises me that in the third year of the rapid slide towards the absence of justice, people come to see what is actually happening to him now, - he said.

The lawyers noted that three listeners were detained following the hearing, allegedly for shouting "Shame!" and insulting the court.

The politician's father was also present at the sentencing. Ilya Yashin - Valery Yashin.

“It’s terrible to give such a sentence to a 67-year-old woman.”, - he said. "Now the judge has acted as the executioner because he understands perfectly well that at her age, a woman simply won't physically serve out her sentence. God willing, this disgrace will soon end."

According to Yashin, he would very much like Nadezhda Buyanova to be included in the next lists for the exchange of political prisoners.
