A working group has been created in Bashkortostan to monitor children's literature.

The regional parliament's press service reported this today.
According to the deputies, books “without proper control” form “misconceptions about the world around us", and "may contain scenes of violence, cruelty, discrimination or promotion of bad habits" and "give dangerous advice, cause fear and other negative emotions" - that is "negatively affect the child's psyche».
The people's representatives referred to the data of the Russian Union of Writers, which checked 930 published and considered that 60 % of them "instill indifference to the future, reduce human nature to instincts, or reject traditional roles for men and women" (The study itself is not publicly available; according to the book chamber, last year in Russia 39 thousand children's books).
«At one time, the state almost completely withdrew its attention from children's literature. As a result, among the bestsellers, selling hundreds of thousands of copies, is a novel about same-sex love between boys at a pioneer camp.", the speaker of the Bashkortostan parliament noted Konstantin Tolkachev, obviously referring to the novel Elena Malisova и Katerina Silvanova "Summer in a Pioneer Tie (LVPG)".
He believes that the "problem" can be solved, including with the help of parents, whom he called on to join in the monitoring. Tolkachev guaranteedadequate response and careful consideration of each request».
The working group includes members of parliament, government officials, publishers, and store owners, the State Assembly press service reported. However, the order has not yet been published, and it is not yet known who exactly will be on the commission.
