More than 2300 applications have been submitted in Bashkortostan to receive payments for a "friend" sent to war.
В Bashkortostan continue to pay 50 000 rubles for each new contract soldier under the Recruit program. According to the republic's DOSAAF, more than 2300 applications for this payment have been submitted since the program launched in August 2024. The leaders in terms of number of applications were Ufa and Ishimbaysky district.
The program has been particularly successful in rural areas where people live in poverty.
Taking into account payments from the federal, regional and municipal budgets for the contract soldiers themselves, the one-time payment in Bashkortostan currently exceeds 1,2 million rubles.
Meanwhile, Bashkortostan remains one of the leading regions in terms of casualties in the war with Ukraine. According to open sources, the region's death toll exceeds three thousand.
