Kant's lid. Manhole covers with Kant quotes are ready for installation in Kaliningrad.
The Pictorika design bureau has produced the first batch of designer cast-iron manhole covers. One of them features a quote from Kant's first published work, "Thoughts on the True Estimation of Living Forces."
“Even if you make a thousand mistakes in some bold undertaking, the benefit that will be obtained from this for the knowledge of truths will still be much greater than if you always follow the beaten path,” - such a deep thought is now imprinted on the hatch cover.
For now this is a trial batch. 25 pieces.
They will be installed on tourist routes or to replace damaged or lost lids, told in the city's press service.
Not a single lid has been installed yet – work will begin early next year.
The authorities also ordered bottle caps with images of the Pregolsky catfish, a mermaid, and a schematic representation of the city center.
