A tyrant is marching across the country. They plan to erect a second monument to Stalin in Novosibirsk.

Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Novosibirsk Region from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Roman Yakovlev He reported on his VK page that the mayor's office had given its consent in principle to the construction of a monument to Joseph Stalin in the city.

"The response received from the Novosibirsk mayor's office did not express any fundamental objections, but rather proposed choosing an alternative location for the monument. <…> I propose to the city's mayor, M. G. Kudryavtsev, that a monument to I. V. Stalin be erected in Central Park. As a reminder, Central Park was named after I. V. Stalin until 1961, and his monument was erected there," wrote communist in his post.

Previously, the Communists proposed erecting the monument on the grounds of the Glory Monument and even collected over 4 signatures in support. However, the city's Department of Culture, Sports, and Youth Policy deemed this location inappropriate.

Novosibirsk already has a bust of Joseph Stalin, erected in 2019. It is located on the premises of the Novosibirsk Regional Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.

The day before in Vologda, at the initiative of the regional governor have opened monument to Stalin.

Vologda historian Ivan Dzhukha, who spoke out sharply against the move and wrote an open letter to the governor, explained in an interview with NeMoskva why so many images of the dictator are now appearing in the country:

"We haven't learned the lessons of history. <…> Stalin remains, in many minds, a wise ruler and victor in the war, the savior of the country who destroyed only the enemies of the people. That's why they erect monuments to him today. That's how Russian mythmakers portrayed him in films. And if there were any innocent victims, it was Yezhov and Beria..."
