A Karelian MP deleted her Odnoklassniki page because she didn't want it registered with Roskomnadzor.

Representative of Yabloko Emilie Slabunova said Olga,, that her page on this social network had 32 thousand subscribers, but the page had to be deactivated.

“I don’t intend to do this, so as not to pander to those who don’t know how to live in an information society in their archaic attempts,” — she commented on her decision.

According to her, the government’s task is not to frighten, but to inspire.

According to the new federal law, registration of 10,000-plus subscribers is effectively mandatory as of January 1. Roskomnadzor (the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media) imposes restrictions for failure to do so. For example, posts from such channels cannot be reposted, nor can advertising from unregistered bloggers be purchased. Registration was required by the end of 2024, requiring personal information. However, no penalties for failure to comply with the law have yet been established.

Regional governors were the first to rush to implement the legislation, but earlier "NeMoscow" counted 13 "rebels" who never registered in the registry.

By the end of the year, bloggers had already submitted more than 135 registration applications to Roskomnadzor.
