Five conscripts were killed in a shell explosion in the Belgorod region.

This happened in mid-January and has recently become is known Chelyabinsk publication 74.ru. All conscripts were sent to Belgorod from part to ChebarkulThe cause of the explosion was said to be a "guided missile explosion."

One of the conscripts was from Chelyabinsk Artem StallionsHe was 20 years old. He enlisted in the army in 2024, and after two weeks of training, he and four other young men were sent to the Belgorod region.

Artem's father Sergei He said they were offered to sign a contract, with the promise that if they did, they wouldn't be sent to a "hot spot." But those who agreed were ultimately sent to border regions anyway. According to Sergey, none of the guys wanted to go to the border.

In the Belgorod region, Artem and his fellow soldiers built their own shelter. On December 30th, they moved into the dugout. The last time Artem spoke to his father was on January 10th. Then, on January 11th, a shell landed, burying them, and killing everyone.

According to Sergei Zherebtsov, the rest of the dead were also conscripts - from Chelyabinsk and Samara regions, two more - from Kabardino-Balkaria.

The bodies took three weeks to reach their relatives; the funeral took place on February 2.

Sergei Zherebtsov wants to ensure that the remaining conscripts are recalled from the Belgorod region back to Chebarkul.

Back in November, "NeMoscow" toldConscripts from the Chelyabinsk region were tricked and threatened into signing contracts after two weeks of service. The soldiers' parents raised a stink, but it was to no avail.

After the start of the "SVO," Vladimir Putin made no promises to involve conscripts in combat operations. However, according to independent media estimates, over two years in the combat zone perished at least 159 conscripts (and this is only data from open sources as of August 2024).

However, the lawyer explained to 74.ru that conscripts may be recruited to participate in the CTO (counter-terrorist operation)—the Belgorod region is not a "special military operation" zone.
