"The sky teaches us - from a paper dove to a rocket to Mars"

April 12 marks the day in 1961 when the first person in history, Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, went into space.

In 1962, at the instigation of cosmonaut Gherman Titov (a Hero of the Soviet Union who became the first human to complete a space flight lasting more than a day), April 12 was declared Cosmonautics Day. In 2011, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution officially proclaiming today's date the International Day of Human Space Flight. More than 60 countries co-sponsored the resolution.

For Cosmonautics Day, NeMoskva has compiled a playlist of 60 tracks. These songs are about the first human beyond Earth and the life of Yuri Gagarin, about unknown space and distant stars, about sunbeams and dreams of peace.
