Rostselmash returned to a five-day workweek but laid off 2 employees. 

The co-owner of the country's largest combine-building plant Konstantin Babkin reported to interview "Kommersant".  

"We've now switched to a five-day week, but at a reduced rate: we've had to lay off 2 people. We're trying not to lay off any more, otherwise we'll have to train new people later.", Babkin said.

After this, the deputy governor of the Rostov region Igor Sorokin saidthat it was not about laying people off, but about reducing the number of unfilled positions at the plant. "All employees continue to work in accordance with their contracts.", - said Sorokin.

"500 people were laid off. But I think 2,000 were laid off—because, one way or another, people left the core business. They didn't go over the fence, or onto the street—we found a way to relocate them. But in my view, this is a layoff."- He explained Babkin to the Rostov publication 161.ru.
