Residents of the regions are complaining en masse about "holiday" communication outages.
Residents are complaining about problems with calls, SMS and internet access. Moscow, Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnodar and Cheboksary.
The outage affected all major mobile operators—T2, MTS, Megafon, and Beeline. The operators have already stated that the outage was due to circumstances beyond their control.
Telegram and WhatsApp messaging apps are also experiencing service disruptions, according to Downdetector and Sboy.rf. Roskomnadzor, however, claims there are currently no disruptions.
"Internet access restrictions may be imposed to ensure the safety of ongoing festive events," the Unified State System for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies warned Muscovites.
A rehearsal for the Victory Day parade's aerial portion took place in Moscow this morning.
