A bullet to freedom! Young Amur tigers released into the taiga in Primorye

These six-month-old tiger cubs are brother and sister caught In winter, near the village of Eberhard in the Dalnerechensky District. At such a young age, tiger cubs are expected to be under parental supervision and learn how to hunt wild animals in the forest. 

But these two were left without a mother—and they took a bad turn: they began entering villages and hunting dogs. People were forced to take them in: the brother and sister spent two months undergoing rehabilitation at the Primorsky Tiger Center. There, together, they learned everything that proper tigers should know. 

And once they'd learned how, they were released into the taiga, a safe area far from humans. As they parted, the former students showed their teachers that their lessons had been worthwhile. And most importantly, good tiger manners 🐯.
