However, the Telegram channel “Udmurtia against corruption” found other biography details in Safin's criminal case, with the caveat that it could be his full namesake. Denis Safin has at least two previous convictions: in 2022, a court in Udmurtia sentenced him to two years and six months of suspended imprisonment for intentionally causing grievous bodily harm. That same year, Safin committed another crime together with a friend: drunk, they robbed their drinking buddy twice in one night: they beat him, took 250 rubles, and stole a television worth 10,999 rubles from his home. For this, the court sentenced Safin to one and a half years in prison.

The sentence was handed down in January 2023. And in May 2024, Safin signed a contract and went to war, where, according to the school, he "heroically died near the village of Novoalekseevka in the DPR."
