The Gastrofest was held on the embankment and set a Russian record. Grills stretched for half a kilometer, and dozens of chefs from Omsk, Irkutsk, and Tomsk came to help. A total of 500 people participated.

During the festival's preparations, many people asked why it was necessary, said organizer Daria Karaseva, a member of the Legislative Assembly and leader of the New People party in Novosibirsk. And she herself responded, that the result was “5 thousand happy people, hundreds of tourists.”

"We want SibFest to become an annual event and become one of the most vibrant food festivals in Russia, if not the world. It will be a true calling card for Novosibirsk. A tourist draw. And a bright start to the summer season," Karaseva wrote.

Former presidential candidate Vyacheslav Davankov also attended. He explained that volunteers and cooks "stayed up half the night preparing for the record," and that Novosibirsk should "feature more frequently on the federal agenda" and set more records.

In the absence of any kind of free political life outside the Kremlin's control, parties on the eve of elections have no choice but to compete in the size of their kebabs.

The next elections in Russia will be held on a single voting day—September 14, 2025. On this day, elections will be held at various levels, including gubernatorial, regional parliamentary, and municipal elections.
