"An ecological mine has been planted beneath us all, ready to explode": Karelian authorities have created another fish farm on Lake Onega.

Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Republic Olga Palkina signed the document despite mass protests from residents of the village Lambasruchey.

Last week, local residents accused officials of fraud, claiming they never gave consent to the opening of the fishing farm and only learned about the survey from official sources. According to authorities, 76 in the 137 Lambasruchi residents allegedly supported the creation of a fish farm. However, a local poll showed that over 90 people were against it. And that's all who voted.

“We live with the feeling that there is an ecological mine laid under all of us, ready to explode, — complained local residents. — Currently, seven trout farms operate in the immediate vicinity of Lambasruchye, significantly polluting the bay's once pristine water. It now smells of rotten fish, and the surface is coated with a greasy film. We can no longer swim, use the water for saunas, or drink it safely.

In the near future, residents of Lambasruchi plan to hold a meeting and demand that the Karelian authorities respect the rights of the local population.

Previously, the residents of the Karelian village Warrior, villages Dam и Vyartsilya We managed to overturn the orders establishing fishing areas. In all three cases, the Supreme Court of Karelia sided with the local population.
