Residents from various Siberian cities have begun complaining about problems with mobile internet.

MTS and Tele2 customers in Novosibirsk have reported service outages, according to Sibirsky Express. The Downdetector service has also reported issues with Megafon and Yota.

Mobile internet has been restricted in the Usolsky District of the Irkutsk Region, according to local complaints. The district head Vitaly Matyukha He insisted that the restrictions were being introduced "for safety reasons," exactly the same way Omsk Region Governor Vitaly Khotsenko justified the five-day outages.

However, the forced internet detox isn't limited to residents of Siberia. Beeline customers in Rostov-on-Don received unexpected text messages: "For security reasons, the internet may be temporarily unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control."

"Beeline 2026: 20 of our fastest pigeons with birch bark letters a month will make up for any inconvenience," commented Rostov residents.
