Commemorative plaques and 300 rubles: the most beautiful village will be chosen in the Vladimir region.
The annual "Most Beautiful Village" competition has launched for the 11th time. The competition has taken hold in the region and is so popular that some villages begin preparing for it several months in advance.
The competition proceeds as follows: jury members visit a municipality and evaluate its aesthetic appeal, the condition of local landmarks, the availability of sports and leisure infrastructure, its commitment to traditions, and the residents' active participation in addressing important issues.
"Sometimes not everyone even knows about these villages and towns. City dwellers are more likely to have an idea of the sites nearby, but what's in the Gorokhovetsky, Vyaznikovsky, or Muromsky districts is unknown. So, once again, we all have a lot of discoveries to make," He explained Chairman of the Organizing Committee Vyacheslav Kartukhin.
This year, there are some new features. For example, the grand prize will be 300 rubles, and the top-place finishers in each group will receive 100, 50, and 30 rubles, respectively. The organizing committee also announced an additional competition, "Faces of the Village," featuring a themed photo of a villager. There will also be a "Safest Village" category, introduced jointly with regional rescue teams.
The Grand Prix winners of last year's competition steel Kuzmino village Vyaznikovsky district and village of Alepino Sobinsky District. 69 settlements from 16 districts of the region competed for the title of best.
Applications for participation in the competition are accepted until July 11, and the results of the competition will be announced in early autumn.
