Construction of a unique biopark in Russia has been suspended indefinitely. 

On an area of ​​200 hectares in Yaroslavl The plan was to expand the enclosures, create an exhibit of unique animals, add entertainment areas, and much more. However, the project was put on hold indefinitely.

The zoo's reconstruction was carried out by the mayor's office and the regional government in conjunction with the State Development Corporation (VEB.RF).

“Unfortunately, due to disagreements between the parties regarding the project’s implementation, it was suspended, and at the moment, the timing of its possible resumption has not been determined.”- сообщили at the city hall.

It is reported that the reconstruction and expansion were urgently needed for the zoo, as it had not had even a simple renovation for a long time.

According to a previously presented project, the zoo was planned to be redesigned, expanded, and transformed into a biopark unique to Russia. It was to include a tourist complex, a hotel, a hippodrome, an oceanarium, a dolphinarium, an amusement park, cafes, and recreation areas. The biopark construction program was scheduled to run until 2030, with investment amounts to 13 billion rubles.

Residents of Yaroslavl reacted to the news with mixed feelings. didn't like them empty promises: "They've promised so much already. I'm fed up with their fairy tales."Others rejoiced, suspecting that the zoo's expansion was intended to deprive city residents of their favorite and free recreational spot: "Was this project meant to take away the city's favorite summer vacation spot, Lake Texas?"
