Pereslavl Court recognized scientist of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Abramov guilty of "financing extremist activities." The reason steel Seven transfers totaling approximately 7 rubles, allegedly made before the war. Abramov pleaded not guilty and claimed he had not made the transfers. The prosecution sought a fine of 450 rubles, but the court imposed a more lenient sentence.

The case dragged on since April 2023, when Abramov was placed under house arrest and later sent to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation. According to the scientist, he spent 12 days in the hospital, and the psychiatric evaluation found him sane.  

Sergey Abramov is a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Chief Researcher at the Ailamazyan Institute of Software Systems. Until 2022, Abramov headed the institute. He developed the Skif supercomputers and was awarded a government award for this work.
