99% of sanatoriums in Russia are experiencing a staffing shortage. They are trying to find staff in India and Southeast Asia.

Almost all sanatoriums are facing staff shortages: overall, they are short up to 40% of their employees—doctors, mid-level medical personnel, and line staff, such as food service workers. Figures calculated in the Association of Health Tourism and Corporate Health.

In recent years, Russia has seen a growing shortage of personnel, and unemployment will reach 2025 reached historical minimum. According to various estimates, by 2030 the country's economy will not enough up to 4 million people.  

The problem in the health resort industry is more acute than in the overall hotel market—health resorts require more staff to operate. Experts cite various reasons for the labor shortage, including demographic decline, the outflow of population from small towns where health resorts are often located, the opening of new facilities, and the lure of medical professionals to private clinics where salaries are higher.

Vasta Hotel Management notes that the number of job postings has decreased threefold over the past year. Large chains are trying to fill their staffing gaps, including by recruiting from as far afield as India and Southeast Asia.
