Citizen, show me your stains!

The patterns on a snow leopard's skin are its identity card: they remain unchanged throughout its life.

This is a source of great joy for zoologists at the Irbis Snow Leopard Research and Conservation Center. After all, all a snow leopard needs to do is get close to a camera trap just once—and that's it, they'll remember it forever!

And most importantly, the stains are always with him - it’s not a passport that you can forget at home.

"We saw all sorts of patterns on this spotted one—patterns in the shape of a heart, a flower, and even a tumbler doll," the scientists rejoice.

Well, he's a handsome man, isn't he?
