Teachers from 73 regions of Russia have salaries below the minimum wage

And only in three is it higher. This is Moscow, Tatarstan и Primorsky KraiA study by the independent trade union "Teacher," published by Izvestia, showed that the minimum wage in Russia in 2025 will be 22,440 rubles.

The lowest teacher salaries were found in Karachay-Cherkessia — from 2369 to 3969 rubles. Less than five thousand — in EAO, Vologda Oblast и MordoviaIn 24 regions, salaries range from five to ten thousand rubles. But in 46, they don't reach 20.

"Setting a salary below the minimum wage in itself is not a violation, as long as the final accrued salary, including all allowances, is not less than the minimum wage. If the final amount is less, the employer is obligated to make a top-up payment up to the minimum wage," explained the CEO of the National Law Firm Mitra. Yuri Mirzoev.

However, regional school administrations are cheating the system when calculating additional pay, the expert says. They include amounts teachers are paid for extra work, not legitimate bonuses. 

The day before, NeMoskva wrote that in Khabarovsk primary school teacher Ekaterina Agoshina won a lawsuit over salary recalculation and is expected to receive more than 150 thousand rubles.

Teachers have already won similar cases in Arkhangelsk region, and in a number of regions - Irkutsk и Tver region, Transbaikal и Stavropol Krai — the problems were resolved after prosecutorial inspections without trial.
