🤯 Belgorod project "Little Heroes" was One of the winners of the all-Russian "Native Toy" competition. Vladimir Putin promised to put the winning toys into production and distribute them to kindergartens across Russia.
"Little Heroes" is a series of figurines based on real people and collective images associated with the war in Ukraine: soldiers, volunteers, and medics. Among the real people are a boy named Alyosha, a military paramedic named Ekaterina Ivanova, and a radio intercept operator named Grigory Vershinin.
🤯 At the exhibition in Moscow, at the stand dedicated to the Sovremennik play "The Steep Route", Stalin's repressions replaced on the "chronicle of life in Germany at the turn of the 20s and 30s."
"The Steep Route" is a novel about the Gulag by the repressed Evgenia Ginzburg, the first documentary work about Stalin's camps written by a woman.
🤯 On Kievskaya Street in Tomsk have opened A small "Emerald City"—figures of Ellie, the Tin Woodman, the Lion, and the Scarecrow—were installed. According to local preservationists, the fairytale characters look like the ones from a 1979 children's camp, pulled out of an old basement and hastily painted.
"The Scarecrow is clearly plotting something dark: his eyes betray a dark soul. Ellie has definitely suffered psychological trauma, and now she's trying to act like a normal girl <…> The Woodcutter was definitely connected to Buratino's family. It's scary to even imagine his axe and threatening fist," writes the "City Doesn't Infuriate" project.
🤯 Archpriest of the Russian Orthodox Church Sergiy Kulpinov, who serves in the Irkutsk Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, wanted impose tithes on Russians—mandatory payments for the needs of the church.
"It's not the church; it's God who said, 'You must bring a tenth of your income to my house to maintain my house,' <…>," Kulpinov said, adding that if parishioners don't support the churches, the priests will have to work. "I'll get a job, but when you need something urgently, I'll say, 'Stop, Saturday or Sunday evening.' Is that what you all want?"
