Vladivostok mayors continue to compete in the amount of assets appropriated

The defendants in the Prosecutor General's Office lawsuit, filed personally by Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov, include 12 individuals and legal entities. These include Pushkarev's parents, his siblings, his son, his wife, and his trusted representatives. Alexey Sysoev и Victor Ivanov, as well as the former head of the Directorate for Construction of Facilities of the Vladivostok Urban District Eugene Deshchenko, who now heads a number of companies that are at risk of being confiscated.
The former mayor himself is not listed among the defendants. All these assets are intended to be turned over to the state.
The day before, the Prosecutor General's Office filed another lawsuit against former Vladivostok Mayor Vladimir Nikolaev. It demanded the seizure of 5,3 billion rubles worth of property and over 700 million rubles in cash from him and his associates. Nikolaev had previously had 14,8 billion rubles worth of assets confiscated as property obtained through corruption.
Igor Pushkarev served as head of the Vladivostok administration immediately after Nikolayev, from May 2008 to November 2017. He was arrested in 2016 on suspicion of bribery and abuse of office and sentenced to 15 years and three months. In 2022, an additional three months were added to his current sentence for a criminal case involving abuse of power over the procurement and maintenance of municipal buses.
In December 2024, it became known that Pushkarev had been sent to the SVO zone.
