Former Vice Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Oleg Chemezov has been detained.

He became involved in a fraud case involving oligarchs. Artem Bikov и Alexey Bobrov, several media outlets reported, citing their sources. It is unknown whether the former official has been charged. Chemezov was previously summoned for questioning.

"If I'm detained, the children will be left without supervision. I quit my job specifically to take the children to and from school and buy groceries. If I'm excluded from this process, what will happen to the children? But I can't avoid it because I'm used to abiding by the law," the former vice governor commented.

Last week, the head of the Sverdlovsk region Denis Pasler Chemezov was dismissed. It was then reported that he was one of the defendants in the Prosecutor General's Office's lawsuit seeking the transfer of the Oblkommunenergo company to state ownership. His property is also being sought to be transferred to the state.
