Residents of Peleduy, Yakutia, have accused authorities of cruelty to captured dogs.

Animal attack incident happened September 26. A man suffered serious injuries—dogs tore off his scalp. Residents expressed outrage, recalling that they had repeatedly complained about packs of stray animals, but officials had insisted that "there are no stray dogs in Peleduy." The Yakutia Prosecutor's Office announced an investigation and reminded local authorities that they had previously been commissioned to build an animal shelter.
The day after the attack, it became known that the dogs had been captured and placed in a metal container in a vacant lot.

The situation with the capture of stray animals in Yakutia became especially relevant after a girl was attacked by stray dogs in the village Chulman in early October last year.
