An amateur astronomer from Yenisei captured the brightest comet of 2025.

Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) flew over Yenisei (Krasnoyarsk Krai) On the night of October 11th–12th, it will be the brightest comet of the year. It's also very rare—it can only be seen once every 1350 years. Its closest approach to Earth will be on October 21st.

As the author of the Astronomy in Yeniseisk project explained Maxim BocharoThe comet can be seen even through binoculars—you'll recognize it by its greenish glow. Even its green tail is visible through a telescope. You can observe the comet in the sky until November 2.

"We've been hunting this comet for quite some time. The weather wasn't favorable; there were many cloudy nights, so until the 12th, the comet was mostly visible in the morning sky, but now its evening visibility has begun. It will gradually rise higher above the horizon. It's currently visible beneath the constellation Ursa Major. It will soon enter the constellation Bootes."
