The number of people poisoned by prepared food in Buryatia has risen to 121.

Sixty-seven people, 40 of them children, have been hospitalized, according to Rospotrebnadzor. All of those poisoned have acute intestinal infections, and eleven have laboratory-confirmed salmonellosis.

Another 296 residents Buryatia are under observation as persons who have been in contact with sick persons.

A mass poisoning of finished products manufactured by Vostok LLC was reported yesterday. The food was sold in popular Ulan-Ude supermarkets of the Nikolaevsky chain.

The retail chain stated that the supplier is conducting an internal investigation in conjunction with Rospotrebnadzor: "Production has been suspended until official laboratory test results are received and all causes are clarified."

6,4 tons of products were seized from sale. The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case.
