Restarting science to get home: Tomsk graduate students created a computer game for studying physics in school.
The main character of the game Axis - a boy named HelionAfter a failed experiment, he finds himself in a devastated world where the laws of physics no longer apply. The schoolboy's only ability is to stop time. His goal is to restore the laws of nature and return home.
"Children are bored with physics. I work in a school, so I was looking for different ways to engage them in the subject in a visual, interesting way, with examples. I came up with the idea for a game that would be tied to learning physics, explains TSU postgraduate student Ruslan Tleulenov. "The game's distorted world is the embodiment of physics itself, divided into chapters. Each chapter reflects a specific area—mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity."

Axis is planned to be released on VK Play and Steam by August 2026. The game will be tested in four schools. TomskBut the project's creators already understand that educational institutions may face problems optimizing the game on school laptops. "There may be several versions of the game so that it runs smoothly everywhere," — says Tleulenov.
Tomsk resident's project Ruslana Tleulenova and his colleagues Artem Mitrofanova won the Student Startup competition and received support totaling one million rubles.
