"Are you reclassifying schools as maternity hospitals?" A school in the Vologda region held a promotional campaign for newborn products.
Parents were outraged by an advertising campaign that the BABYBOOM store of baby products carried out in Cherepovets School No. 41.
"Mayor Maslov and the Department of Education, what are you getting at? You're opening mother-and-child rooms in schools that were closed thanks to parental groups. Now you're introducing promotional projects to boost the population within the school walls!!! What are you trying to turn schools into? Maybe you'll even reclassify them as maternity hospitals?" — says the message from the “Council of Parents of the Vologda Region” опубликовал on his VKontakte page.
The parents reminded the mayor and education officials that children should be "acquiring knowledge from educational programs at school, not learning how to become future mothers at school age." They also proposed holding "birth rate-boosting events" at their city hall.
Nearly 50 comments were left under the post, almost exclusively condemning this practice:
"With your idiotic ideas, you're trying to implant in our subconscious that having children from school is normal."
"More idiocy? Why on earth are they pushing their demographic preferences into schools and advertising stores and brands?"
"And then all the children from the orphanage abandoned - to be provided for and raised by this headmistress."
