An 80-year-old grandmother will have to pay compensation to an official for seven years for criticizing him on social media.

Primorsko-Akhtarsky District Court obliged Margarita white pay a thousand rubles in a defamation suit in favor of the head of the district Maxima BondarenkoAs well as 85,010 rubles for notary and legal fees and a linguistic examination. The official initially demanded 300,000 rubles for the second lawsuit. 

How to сообщает According to 93.ru, 80-year-old Margarita Pavlovna is a third-degree disabled person (she has diabetes) and the widow of a veteran of the Grozny war. Her only income is a pension of 30 rubles. Based on this, the court authorized Belykh to pay Bondarenko 1,5 rubles per month until 2030. 

The following comments were considered insulting to honor and dignity: 

“Our district head lies constantly, he lies like he breathes”;

"The main thing is that he believes his own lies so much, and that's a dangerous symptom. He already knows everything about promises and fantasies."

"It's scary. Like in Kushchevka. It's truly scary. When will the purge of the ranks begin?" 

Margarita Belykh previously served as a member of the Primorsko-Akhtarsk City Council for 15 years, representing the A Just Russia party. She told 93.ru that local authorities "have a grudge against her" and called the compensation amount "exorbitant." 

This isn't the first time an official has filed a lawsuit against a citizen for criticism. The resident Kama region collected 20 rubles for insulting a convicted official. Similar case occurred in Kaluga.
