Losiny Island defenders plan to send 50,000 messages to Putin's hotline.

Defenders of Losiny Ostrov National Park are planning an "assault": direct 50,000 questions were asked for the direct line with Vladimir Putin, which will take place on December 19. They want to make road construction in a protected area the main environmental topic of the direct line. Work in the national park continues. 

"We're currently sending out mass appeals through various channels. Criminal activity is ongoing around the clock. They've filled the Finnish Village in Korolev with their trucks, obstructing access for residents of the Pionerskaya 30 neighborhood, cutting down forests in the national park, and hauling stone and crushed stone there. Trucks have torn up the roads in the Finnish Village. And the police are on their side. They're ignoring reports from local residents, but detaining their defenders," activist Mikhail Rogov told NeMoskva. 

Rogov himself was there detained About a month ago, while recording a video message, Mikhail recounted that when residents gather at the construction site, the police immediately demand they disperse and threaten punishment for disobeying the police, protecting the construction workers. 

Meanwhile, the road, which was billed as a "benefit" for the entire Moscow region, is now blocking access for residents of Vodoprovodnaya Alley in Mytishchi. They're being advised to take a detour through Korolev, but according to Mikhail, there's no other access in that area besides the blocked one. Meanwhile, in Korolev, people can't sleep: work continues even at night; according to foremen, the authorities have given the go-ahead for nighttime construction. 

"We're like frogs in a pot of sour cream. We're doing everything we can to make it stop quickly, hoping we won't drown. And they're probably rushing the construction to get the road up and running before they get into trouble. It's criminal activity and complete lawlessness," the activist added. 

Complaints are sent via text messages, to hotline websites, and to social media pages. For convenience, activists have prepared prepared questions: why is the national park's land being destroyed? Why is the president's order to take residents' opinions into account being ignored? Why are government agencies inactive despite the obvious violations? 

Losiny Ostrov National Park has been under protection for over a year. Authorities decided that a road built through the protected forest would relieve congestion on Moscow Region roads.
