The Ministry of Health of Yugra: Doctors are not allowed to work in hijabs.
A complaint recently circulated on social media about doctors working in religious attire at a hospital in Kogalym, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.
"Why are people who look like radical Muslims, banned in Russia, seeing patients at our state-run children's clinic? This negatively impacts the upbringing and development of children's worldviews."- asks anonymous author, without explaining the reasons for the negative impact.
To the complaint responded First, in the Social Policy Committee, officially, religious clothing is banned in Yugra only in schools. This year, in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, was the third region in Russia where hijabs are banned in educational institutions.
But then the regional Ministry of Health intervened in the discussion. Officials noted that medical workers are prohibited from wearing religious attire in the workplace due to sanitary regulations.
“The use of civilian clothing in clinical practice, including clothing of religious significance that does not meet sanitary requirements, is not permitted on general grounds,” — the Ministry of Health writes.

"When a nurse enters the operating room wearing a hijab, it's very strange because no one knows what condition her neck is in or how sterile her hijab is," — she argued her position.
