And in NeMoscow… old jeans get a new life

Resident Kaliningrad Anastasia Domnina I became interested in sewing as a child: I made dresses for dolls from scraps of fabric.

Now she is a mother of three children, and in her free time reanimates Old jeans. It turns out you can make sun hats, bags, sofa covers, and many other interesting things out of them.

This is called upscaling - remaking things into something new, unique, or simply more useful and functional.

Anastasia Domnina's workshop has been open for two years now. It's called Jeans2Life (a second life for jeans, or jeans for life).

“If previously the alteration of things was due to a shortage, now it is a response to an overabundance of things, especially clothing,” she notes.

Besides jeans, Domnina works with old shirts and leather jackets. She also makes organizers from used packaging and storage boxes from toilet paper rolls.
