In 1970, she entered graduate school at the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. She worked at the Research Institute of Blood Substitute and Hormonal Drug Technology. In 1978, she defended her dissertation and worked at the Institute of Chemical Physics of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
Popularity came in the late 1970s - early 1980s.

In the early 1990s, she headed the culture department of the Oktyabrsky District Executive Committee of Moscow and served as deputy prefect of the Central Administrative District of Moscow. From 1992 to 1994, she served as Deputy Minister of Culture of Russia.
