Horses died in a fire near Yekaterinburg.

On the night of January 23rd in the village Boyarka under Yekaterinburg burned out The Good Horse stable. Fifteen horses died in the fire, and one person was injured.

"The premises were heated with heaters and a homemade heating system. There were no cameras or fire protection systems. They called me and said my horse had burned. They'll try to hush up the matter, as the stable owner is a respected person. The owners are ready to file a class action lawsuit.", the owner of one of the horses told E1.RU Eugene.

The fire started at night. Flames quickly spread throughout the building: by the time rescuers arrived, the fire had already burned to approximately 500 square meters. It wasn't until the morning that the fire was brought under control.

As reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for Sverdlovsk region, the cause of the fire is being investigated. Village residents suggest, that the fire was caused by "our power grid with its own power surges." They also write that firefighters had to travel to the neighboring village of Kurmanka (about 20 km away) to fetch water.

"NeMoskva" wrote that on January 14th Gorodetsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region burned out The Zharkov family's farm, along with all its animals, was destroyed. The farmers accused the firefighters of inaction. However, the region is desperately short of firefighters: they earn only 40 rubles with all benefits—a salary no one wants.
