Omsk residents who staged a picket due to the cold in their apartments were fined 1,500 rubles.

Residents of buildings on Ordzhonikidze Street have been asking utility workers to fix a broken heating pipe for over two weeks. They say their apartments are uninhabitable due to the cold: in corner rooms, the temperature has dropped to minus one degree Celsius, while in others, it's hovering around 5 degrees Celsius (with a heater, it's 16 degrees Celsius).

At the same time, hot water from a leaky pipe flooded several courtyards and washed away the asphalt.

Appeals to officials also did not help.

Today several people staged picket, blocking traffic on one of the streets. The protest lasted 40 minutes: it ended after the arrival of traffic police officers, who fined each of the picketers for one and a half thousand rubles.

Only after this did the utility workers promise to start work “immediately”, and the insurance company aroused criminal case for the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements.
