Even though the gas heater is constantly on, it's terribly cold at night: the wall by the bed is frozen solid. I tried to move it, but it's impossible. It only moves with the linoleum, and the linoleum is supposed to be additional insulation; how can you remove it? The only things I can get by with are a heat gun and tea with jam from my garden," he said.
The former village head also shared his method for washing dishes: he heats water at home and takes it outside in a saucepan. There, he dilutes it with cold water and washes it in the freezing cold.
