"The budget is in dire straits": Kemerovo Oblast has abolished the kindergarten fee subsidy for children of SVEO members.

Parents of preschoolers from Yurga They said that now only the following will be compensated from the budget 25 % the cost of the kindergarten, the remaining 75% must be paid independently.

"Is the SVO over? Have the fathers come home? Why are they taking away our support, even though everyone keeps saying we need more support for such families," local resident Elena was indignant.

The Yurga administration confirmed the cancellation of benefits starting in the new year. Now, only children whose fathers died in the "SVO" or were at least declared missing can count on 100% of their kindergarten fees covered by the budget.

"Belt tightening has reached everyone," "This has all happened before—the SVO will end, and in five years no one will remember its participants," "Maybe it's time to cut the number of deputies?", "These mommies are getting a little pissed off. How much do they get per month at the SVO?! Afghan and Chechen veterans don't have such benefits," "The budget is in really bad shape," — local residents comment on social networks.

A government source familiar with the situation told NGS42 Kemerovo region He said that cities introduce such measures at their own discretion, depending on the situation with budget deficits in municipalities.

In October 2022, the then governor of the Kemerovo region Sergey TsivilevApproved support measures for the families of mobilized personnel. Specifically, the ability to send children aged one and a half years and older to state-run kindergartens free of charge and without waiting lists.

The abolition of this benefit in Yurga is not the first sudden, unannounced cutback on SVEO personnel. For example, in January 2025, Samara Oblast authorities raised payments to new contract soldiers to 3,6 million rubles, but by July, without further publicity, they had reduced them to 400.
