American historian Alexei Feldt from Arkhangelsk has been reinstated.
In Arkhangelsk, the Lomonosov District Court granted the demands of an American historian. Alexey Feldt and reinstated him at work. The court also ordered the reprimand lifted and ordered him to be paid for the forced absences.
"I was planning to wait for the relevant orders from NArFU, but news of the court hearing had already appeared in the media," wrote The scientist posted on his VKontakte page.
Alexey Feldt worked at the Northern (Arctic) Federal University. In November 2025, he was dismissed on a formal basis—supposedly for "absenteeism"—following denunciations from pro-government activists. Anonymous channels claimed that Feldt did not support the war and, along with his wife, "stood at the forefront of Navalny's headquarters protests." The academic was also accused of having a son living in Europe and of running an "American club," which the denunciators called "the cradle of Navalny's supporters."
Feldt said he'd been asked to resign earlier, but he'd refused. His "absence," the professor explained, was due to the department lacking equipment and the necessary books, forcing him to work from home.
Against Feldt's dismissal have spoken students, but the petition they created did not help at the time.
