A fawn that went missing a year ago was found in Yakutia: its owner recognized it in a video posted on social media.
Raisa Ilyinova, the Evenki granddaughter of a reindeer herder, lost her fawn a year ago. Dogs attacked the camp and scared the little one away. Recently, she recognized her fawn in a video about the Vilyuysky Highway on social media and decided to start looking for it again.
The now-grown deer was searched for using drones, and residents of the republic were asked to help. After several days of searching, he was found. Today, he returned to his native herd.
"Having long been lost in the dense forest undergrowth, the baby has absorbed a different scent, becoming completely alien to the comfort of home. The adaptation process begins anew," Raisa wrote on Instagram.
To revive the work of his grandfather Apollon Ilyinov Rais made up my mind in 2023. She bought A herd of 19 reindeer belonged to an elderly couple from Khabarovsk Krai who could no longer care for the animals. They received a hectare of land in the Far East near the Vilyuysky Highway. However, at first, the reindeer moss didn't grow there after a fire, and they had to travel to neighboring areas to get food. Due to the proximity to the highway, several reindeer died, and they had to spend their first winter in a Chinese tent. But Raisa didn't give up and now talks about life in the camp with her husband and children. She set up a house for her family and guests at the old base, and tells them about the life of reindeer herders.
