"She's in good hands!" A prize lamb escaped from the Eastern New Year celebration in Buryatia.

In the capital of Buryatia, Ulan-Ude, today there is a wide celebrated The Lunar New Year is Sagaalgan, the White Month holiday. The park planned a cultural program—greetings from a lama, a concert, refreshments, and a grand yohor (a traditional round dance) that anyone could join. There was also a prize drawing. The grand prize was a lamb.

The final prize wasn't meant to be. During the park festivities, he escaped from his enclosure. The furry creature nimbly bounded through the snow, evading his pursuers—almost every party guest came out to catch him.

One lamb, or rather, a ewe, as it turned out later, was powerless against the crowd. But she ended up with an animal-loving family, and they took her home by tram. Her neighbors were colorful goats.

"All the noise and fuss at the festival were really stressful for the sheep—animals don't like being disturbed. But now she's home, safe and quiet. I can assure everyone who's worried: the sheep is in good hands. Our family loves animals; we have our own livestock, and we know how to care for them. You needn't worry—she won't be used for meat; we have other plans for her," the winner's wife later reported in the comments.
