Russian army combat units are advised against using the Max: it is unsafe.
Recommendations against using the national messenger are being issued to units of the Armed Forces fighting on the front lines. This was reported by sources from two publications:Media zones" and the pro-war Telegram channel "Fighterbomber».
"Orders have been issued banning the use and installation of the world's most secure national messenger," Fighterbomber writes. He also notes that "very soon" the army will receive another program that will allow for the transmission of classified information.
The authorities have been promoting the Max messenger since last summer. They claim that the use of Western social media and messaging apps puts Russians' personal data at risk and increases their risk of becoming victims of fraud. Against this backdrop, they first began blocking WhatsApp, then Telegram. The restrictions also affected those fighting on the front lines, according to a State Duma deputy. Sergei MironovTelegram remained the only messenger through which the participants of the "SVO" on the front could communicate, and those who slow it down are "idiots" and "scoundrels".
Experts have long been called The national messenger is a "cop in your pocket": according to them, Max can activate its video camera every 5-10 minutes, even if the user isn't interacting with it. Apparently, it's not just Russian intelligence agencies that can access it.
