Flowers, pickets, and arrests: protests held in Russia to mark the anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine

🔸On the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion, St. Petersburg residents brought flowers to monument to Taras Shevchenko and memorial Victims of political repression on Voskresenskaya Embankment. Police were on duty there today, as at other memorial sites in the city. 

🔸Picket woman Taisiya Kurbanalieva with a poster reading "No war, no occupation" detained on Pushkin Square in Moscow. The girl brought to the Tverskoy District Police Department. They didn't let her lawyer see her, despite his request.

🔸Flowers and notes were also brought to the monument Lesya Ukrainka in Moscow. On video A police officer was caught rummaging through them. Then the approach to the monument blocked police car, claiming that an "illegal event" was allegedly taking place at the monument.
