The mother of a teenager killed at an exhibition of "trophy equipment" in Yakutsk is calling for those responsible to be punished. 

Aitalina Egorova She launched a petition stating that she hadn't received the order to open a case for a whole month. She believes this is an attempt to delay the process and conceal the true nature of the crime. The woman is asking for an investigation into her son's death. Anton The Prosecutor General's Office and the Investigative Committee of Russia took personal control.

"A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Russian Criminal Code (negligence) against an 'unidentified person.' This is illegal. The exhibit had an owner, the head of the institution, and responsible persons who signed the facility's permits for use." — Egorova notes.

16-year-old Anton Alekseev He died on the grounds of the "My History" museum on January 20. He climbed into a "trophy" tank through the bottom hatch and accidentally triggered the emergency release mechanism of the multi-ton gun barrel, injuring him.

The tank was without a pedestal or railings, was not secured in place, and its moving parts were not welded shut. The mother believes the death of her child was a direct consequence of the museum's life-threatening service.

"We need publicity so the investigation can't turn a blind eye to the truth. Let my son be the last child to die simply by going to a park." — says Aitalina.

At the time of publication, the petition had been signed by 541 people.

Anton's death is the second such incident this year. Earlier, at a similar exhibition in Komsomolsk-on-Amur The lid of a captured armored personnel carrier fell on a four-year-old child. He died.
