80-year-old Gilin hadn't eaten anything for 24 hours: he'd also spent the previous night in police custody. He'd gone on a hunger strike to protest the police's actions.

He was detained for the first time on March 15th at a picket against internet blocking, which took place near the location where activists wanted to approve a rally on this issue.
