Wood grouse trail: a bird from Krasnoyarsk's Stolby National Park has become a tour guide

This is what tourists decided when they came to see the famous landmark and, right at the entrance, encountered a wood grouse, who leisurely led them along a path deeper into the park.

Ornithologists, incidentally, cite several reasons why wood grouse approach humans. The most common is mating season, which begins in March (at this time, males become restless and may mistake humans for rivals).

Wood grouse also search for small stones on paths and swallow them to help break up the tough pine needles in their stomachs. They also lose their fear due to the lack of hunters. They can also experience loneliness due to a lack of females.
