In the village of Kalinovka A pasteurellosis outbreak has been detected in the Pilninsky District and a quarantine has been declared. The cause was two calves taken from a neighboring farm by a farmer.
"I called the veterinary service, and the next day they were disposed of. Foaming at the mouth, that's all. They'd lost weight. And they were taken away the next morning."- рассказал a resident of the village told journalists of "By the Way" Alexey Kashirin.
This is the first case where an owner has described symptoms of a real illness in his animals.
Entry to the village is permitted only to local residents, but the film crew entered without being stopped. Other villagers expressed more concern about the incident: veterinary workers poured milk into a ravine after disinfecting it. People are at a loss as to how to survive.
"There's no income because the cattle are sick. You can't sell milk, you can't sell meat, — the resident complained. — Everyone is worried about what will happen next.".
However, there are no protests, and the cows of other private owners and farmers have not yet been destroyed.
Pasteurellosis was previously discovered in livestock in the Altai Territory, Penza и Omsk region, в Yakutia and other regions.
