"Lord, why are you punishing Ryazan?" Residents of the region are demanding the removal of illegal garbage and sewage dumps.

One grew in the city center, the other in the village.

🔸Residents of a neighborhood on the shore discovered a dump of household and construction waste Pavlovka River in the center of RyazanThe site was previously a nature park, and they promised to improve the embankment, but the land was rezoned for high-rise development. 

"There's a spill going on right now, and hazardous chemicals will likely end up in the river. There's a private home and a new kindergarten near this landfill. What will the children breathe? What are the people living there breathing now?"- wondered author of the post in the VKontakte group. 

Ryazan residents suspected that this wasn't just a landfill—another building would be built on the site, and the trash would be buried under the foundation. 

"Malkov [Governor Pavel Malkov] has made the region famous throughout the country," "The city can't breathe, they need to build an embankment there, or develop a large city park," "Lord, why are you punishing Ryazan?", — the townspeople were outraged in the comments.  

Ryazan residents intend to appeal to supervisory authorities.

🔸Residents village of Osovo, Zakharovsky district demanded Eliminate the illegal dumping of sludge deposits brought in from wastewater treatment plants. 

"Over the past year and a half, between 500 and a million tons of waste have been delivered—a catastrophic amount for a quarry! The quarry is already overflowing and continues to spill.",” wrote representatives of the initiative group. 

According to residents, waste from the treatment plant is being dumped illegally into the quarry, which is also adjacent to agricultural land. Residents have been fighting the dump since the fall of 2024, but it has not been eliminated. 

🔸From the Rosprirodnadzor report for last year it follows that the Ryazan region became a leader in terms of the number of illegal dumps among the regions of the Central Federal District. 1439 illegal dumps were discovered in its territory. Moscow region (802 landfills) and Bryansk region (219 landfills). In total, 219 were discovered in the Central Federal District. 3139 illegal dumps
