A Ryazan urban preservationist was detained outside a courthouse on charges of slandering a construction company.

Deputy Chairman of the Ryazan branch of VOOPIiK (All-Russian Organization for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments) Igor Kochetkov detained on the street, taken to the Soviet District Police Department to be served with a notice, and then released. About this сообщается on the VOOPIiK page on VKontakte.

He was served with a notice of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Defamation") and was asked to undergo fingerprinting as a suspect.

We are talking about a post on social media in which Kochetkov proves: Liquid crystal Oka Arrow Construction began without reclaiming the land where the sleeper impregnation plant stood. Director of the construction company "Green Garden - Rowan Grapes" Andrey Orishkevich saw the publication as slander, which allegedly caused moral harm to the organization.

"Moral harm can only be caused to an animate person, not a legal entity. These are gross violations of the Criminal Procedure Code."— the explanation from VOOPIiK says.

There are other violations in the case. For example, the Rosprirodnadzor report states that the agency failed to receive a certificate of completion of the land reclamation work, meaning Kochetkov's post reflects a documented fact. His case was transferred to the Sovetsky District Court, presided over by Judge Irina ZhivoglyadHer husband Vadim Zhivoglyad He worked as the director of the Green Garden management company. This became the basis for the entire court to be disqualified from hearing the case.

Green Garden is actively fighting against preservationists who point out violations of the law. Last year, the developer filed a lawsuit for allegedly slandering the oldest defender of the city of Ryazan To Alexander Babiy, a cancer patient. He didn't live to see the trial. In the context of similar "defamation cases" searched Kochetkov, and even earlier - the chairman Andrey Petrutsky.
