Five people died on Lake Baikal after a tourist airboat capsized. This is the second major accident on the lake this season.

On Lake Baikal, near the Cherepakha rock, 30 meters from the shore, the Khivus Sever-750, which had 18 people on board, capsized. сообщает IrCity. Thirteen people managed to escape the water, but five died. One woman was hospitalized with a laceration to her leg. 

According to Baza, the boat's captain allegedly attempted to jump the boat from the ice into the water. Furthermore, according to the boat's technical specifications, it can carry 10 people, meaning it was almost twice as full. A group of tourists from the Moscow region were on board, and the airboat ride cost 5 rubles.
